Fallen Air Force Officer With Creve Coeur Ties To Be Honored Wednesday

The first female graduate of the Air Force Academy to die in defense of her country during the war on terror will be remembered Wednesday for the passion she also gave to her high school athletic career.

In a girls lacrosse game starting tonight at 6 p.m. Mary Institute Country Day School local officials will hold the first ever all-star game for girls.

This game is being organized by Judith Anderson, lacrosse coach at Ursuline Academy. The game is dedicated to the memory of Roz Schulte. Roz was an enthusiastic lacrosse player at John Burroughs who was a leader on a state title winner. She went on to graduate from the Air Force Academy and died in combat in Afghanistan in 2009. She received the Medal of Valor posthumously for her bravery and was recognized on Memorial Day at the Jewish Community Center

Organizers of the game will present a memorial plaque to Bob and Susie Schulte, who, like their daughter, worshipped at Temple Israel in Creve Coeur. Bob Penke who also attended the Air Force Academy will present the plaque prior to the game.

Here is a moving tribute to the late Roz Schulte and other heroes who lost their lives defending our great nation.

StickStop donated jerseys for the game. There is no admission charge for this event.

These are the lineups for the game:
