Defense contractors won more than $18 billion in U.S. Air Force contracts from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

during the first quarter of this year, with the top five largest deals each worth more than $650 million.
The Top 25 largest contracts awarded out of the local Air Force base were worth a combined $17.5 billion for the quarter. Contracts varied in length, from less than a year to more than five years.
The largest deal for the quarter was an $11.4 billion award to The Boeing Co

. of St. Louis, Mo. The deal came under the Foreign Military Sales program and calls for Boeing to provide 84 new F-15’s for the government of Saudi Arabia. The rest of the largest contracts ranged from $14.9 million to $1.7 billion.

Boeing had four contracts among the top 25, combining for $13.82 billion in awards while Lockheed Martin Corp. and Northrop Grumman each had multiple contracts.
Three Dayton-area companies were winners among the top 25 contracts at Wright-Patt including:
• General Dynamics Information Technology Inc., which was named as a subcontractor on a $975 million IT project for the U.S. Air Force;
• The University of Dayton Research Institute

was named to contract worth up to $44.3 million to perform research and development that supports future air and space vehicle capabilities; and
• Beavercreek-based MacAulay-Brown Inc.

won a contract for work focused on sense and avoid technologies.
And with a $12 million contract for architect/engineer services, Beavercreek-based Woolpert Inc.

just missed the list of top contracts at Wright-Patt.
Honeywell International, which also has a facility in the Dayton region, won an $80 million deal. Other big winners were Raytheon Co.
